Target Audience:

The programme is for
• those who would like to start a career in this area
• existing teaching assistants who want to update their knowledge and skills

Course Summary:

The role of teaching assistants in a school, how to support pupils with particular learning needs and how to support teaching and learning.

Course Outline:

• Contribute to professional practice in the teaching and learning environment
• Support the teacher to manage the learning
• Support the learning process
• Support the development of Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills
• Support learners with additional needs

Course Pre-requisites:

One must be at least 16 years of age with GCSE equivalent of C grade or above

Assessment:

One externally marked assignment and one internally marked assignment

How many Teaching Hours:

Approximately 120 hours

End Qualification:

CACHE Level 3 Certificate for Teaching Assistants (NVQ Level 3 equivalent)
